3. Why We Collect Your Data (Legal Basis)

•        To provide access to the App and its services

•        To fulfill contracts with ALS clients

•        To ensure the security and proper functioning of the App

•        To improve user experience and troubleshoot issues

•        To enable features that require location data, such as tagging sample collection points, navigating to job sites, or improving location-specific services (if location permission is granted). You can control location permissions at any time through your device settings.

Your personal data may be shared: •         Internally within ALS Group entities

•        With service providers or partners who assist in delivering App features (e.g. cloud hosting, analytics, support services)

•        As required by law or to respond to legal requests (e.g. court orders)

•        With your employer or ALS contact if your access is granted through them

All third parties are required to comply with data protection standards and process information only as instructed.

6. Account Registration

Accounts can be created in one of two ways:

1.     Self-Registration: Users register via email and confirm their identity.

2.    Invitation: ALS may send an invitation to eligible clients pre-registered in our LIMS system. The invited user must complete account setup themselves. Final approval is completed by ALS Client Services.

 

7. Children’s Privacy

This App is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children without parental consent.

 

8. Security of Data

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including secure authentication, encryption, and access control. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or mobile device can be guaranteed as 100% secure.

 

9. Data Retention

Your personal data is retained only as long as necessary for its intended purpose, or as required by law. Once no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize the data.
